There’s plenty of bird and bug-life to look out for on our site as we have a variety of different habitats and we’re always working to provide more ‘homes for wildlife’. We don’t use any chemicals on our land so our local flora and fauna are protected. We’ve planted 105 trees since our arrival and patches of wildflowers across the site.

There are birdfeeders right beside the hut so you can watch out for nuthatch, blue tits, great tits and coal tits whilst you’re washing up. We also have spotted woodpeckers, treecreepers, goldcrest and redstart visiting from time to time and there’s usually a kite or buzzard soaring overhead. There’s a handy reference book in the Hut so you can find out more about what you’ve seen.

In the evening look out for the many species of bat we have here and listen out for the local tawny owls.
