We do not have a dedicated charging point for your electric car but we can provide you with overnight charging in our workshop, providing you have the correct leads. This is currently charged at £15. There are numerous charging points in our area now too so you'll be able to charge up while you're out and about exploring.
The mobile phone signal is admittedly erratic depending on your network. It's not a problem for us as we like the peace and quiet, but if you really need to check your phone a short walk up the hill usually picks up a signal.

The original shepherd’s huts have been around for hundreds of years, consisting usually of a timber floor with wriggly tin walls and roof, and large wheels allowing them to be drawn up onto pastures and moorland. Simply furnished with a basic day bed and a small stove, the huts were used by farmers and shepherds when there was a need to be close to livestock grazing away from the steading.
These days, shepherd’s huts, old and new, are often offered as glamping sites, where guests can enjoy the wonders of the natural world in a little more luxury than a canvas tent.
Our shepherd hut was hand-crafted by Stockman Shepherd Huts. We would highly recommend them.
We are not a campsite, but we do accept the occasional tent, so it's worth contacting us to ask. If it's for friends/family of people staying at the hut, you can stay near the hut, but if not it will be kept well away from the hut, a good few fields away. We have 26 acres and it's important to us to give you your own space.
Millions of people enjoy camping, immersing themselves in our natural environment and living as simply as possible - a break from the stress of modern living. It is great fun, but if you get unlucky with the weather it can be miserable. There’s often not much room in your tent to get wet clothes dry, that’s if you’re lucky enough to have a tent that hasn’t leaked all over your bedding! Glamping, on the other hand, gives you all the peace and tranquility to be found living with nature, but with the comforts of a warm and waterproof space, with a comfy bed, cooking facilities and an indoor loo. So you can get on with enjoying the great outdoors whatever the weather, knowing you can get warm and dry at the end of your adventures.
The word ‘glamping’ is a blend of ‘glamorous’ and ‘camping’. Our glamping site offers all the fun of camping in a tent with the additional luxury of electricity, a comfy bed, shower and loo, kitchenette and above all, a warm dry space to live in.
People go glamping to enjoy all the benefits of a stay in the countryside with some of the comforts of home to boot.
Yes, there’s a shower room with a loo at one end of our hut, so you don’t even have to go outside to use them.
We supply bath towels, tea towels, bedding and bed linen; cutlery and crockery, pots, pans and condiments. The hut is stocked with tea, coffee, sugar and milk on arrival. You might want to bring your wellies for a splash in our stream.
Glamping sites vary, but ours offers a warm cosy hut with a double bed, kitchenette and shower room, bedding, towels, and cooking utensils. There’s also a lovely hot tub!
The electric hot tub is located in the same private garden as the Hut so you can enjoy a soothing soak in the secluded setting whenever you like.
Nope!
We just have one other holiday let on site - a spacious and comfortable lodge. The lodge is in a separate field to the hut and the two do not overlook each other. If you are interested in renting both together please get in touch.
We do have a lovely little bar on site which runs as an honesty bar for our guests but it is not open to the public. The bar is about 50 yards from the Shepherd's Hut and 100 yards from The Lodge, but does not overlook either of them. We do host monthly gatherings with our neighbours which our guests are welcome to join, but these are not rowdy affairs and we would never allow the events to spoil the peace and tranquility of the site.
Arrive any time between 3pm and 7pm - just let us know if you think you'll be later than 7pm. Please check-out by 11am on your day of departure.
No - the shepherd hut has underfloor heating, so it's toasty warm even in winter.
